Framework for graph-based formalisms

چکیده
Qualitative analysis and performance evaluation require the use of suitable formalisms to describe the systems under study. From an abstract point of view, most of the formalisms defined in the literature, can be seen as special kind of hierarchical graphs. In this work we present a framework for defining and manipulating graph-based formalisms. We build it on a data-definition language (or DDL), specific to graph-domain, in which formalisms are described by the set of the legal type of elements that can be used to build their models, and by the constraints that model elements must satisfy. Rapid development of client/server system-analysis tools can be achieved adopting the DDL as an interchanging language.

A Multi-Formalism Modeling Framework: Formal Definitions, Model Composition and Solution Strategies
In this paper, we present a multi-formalism modeling framework (abbreviated by MFMF) for modeling and simulation. The proposed framework is defined based on the concepts of meta-models and uses object-orientation to overcome the complexities and to enhance the extensibility. The framework can be used as a basis for modeling by various formalisms and to support model composition in a unified man...
متن کاملGraph Transformation and Other Rule-Based Formalisms with Incomplete Information
A general framework is presented for extending graph transformation and other rule-based formalisms in such a way that transformations with incomplete information can be handled. This extension is motivated by the need to model the behaviour of open systems in different application areas using graph transformations and Petri nets. The following two problems are central within this general frame...

متن کامل, Sai Peck Lee Change Management in Business Process Modeling Based on Object Oriented Petri Net
Business Process Modeling (BPM) is the first and most important step in business process management lifecycle. Graph based formalism and rule based formalism are the two most predominant formalisms on which process modeling languages are developed. BPM technology continues to face challenges in coping with dynamic business environments where requirements and goals are constantly changing at the...
متن کاملTwo levels interchange format in XML for Petri Nets and other graph-based formalisms
A two levels data-deenition language (DDL), which can be used to model Petri Nets and other graph based model speciication formalisms is presented. In particular, formalisms are considered as graph and are described by the set of the legal type of elements that can be used to build their models, and by the constraints that model elements must satisfy. Either the formalisms and the models are ex...
